Pregnancy

Pregnancy begins when the male's sperm fertilizes or joins with the female's ovum (egg). The average duration of pregnancy is 38-42 weeks and is divided into 3 trimesters: 1 day-12 weeks; 13-26 weeks; and 26 weeks-birth.

You might be pregnant if:

You have missed one or more menstrual periods
Your breasts are swollen and/or tender
You are nauseated or have had a change in appetite
You are tired or dizzy
You have to urinate more often
You have recently gained or lost weight

Free Pregnancy Tests at Embracing Options:

The test we offer is a self-administered urine test to determine pregnancy hormone levels sufficient to indicate pregnancy.

The test may be positive as early as 7-9 days after conception. It is important that you know the start date of your last period when you come in.
You will provide a urine sample at the time of your pregnancy test. You do not need to bring a specimen with you when you come.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)

Many serious diseases can be spread from person to person through sex. Some, like gonorrhea and chlamydia, can be cured with medicines and others, like herpes and AIDS, can be helped but not gotten rid of completely.
