Joy Community Church has taken the initiative of surveying the people of the Bay and Goodman area to get their input about what the neighborhood needs. The results? A youth center will address one of the most fundamental necessities within this community, a safe haven that provides a positive and relevant atmosphere for at-risk youth. This multi-function "Cross Culture" youth facility is designed to engage youth in a variety of activities. An after school program will provide participants with a nurturing environment where tutoring, computer training and mentoring will help develop skills needed inside the classroom and out. There will also be opportunities for kids to meet in small and large group settings to address the issues and daily struggles that the youth of today face.
