Executive Director Search
After much prayer and many task force meetings, the Board of Directors of His
Branches Inc. has decided that it is the Lord's timing to begin searching for a
full-time Executive Director to implement the vision of His Branches and the
Board in the community. A job description
has been developed and is posted
online. If you know anyone who would be interested in discussing this exciting
new position with us further, please steer them in our direction.
Counseling Center
His Branches is actively seeking input from a number of committed individuals
at Roberts Wesleyan
College, New Life
Fellowship, the
Center for Christian Social Ministries, the Institute for Social
Entrepreneurship, and others in the community as we pursue our plans to develop
an onsite assessment, counseling, and referral center. Much interest has been
shown, and progress is being made weekly.
RWC Internship
With the support of the Roberts Wesleyan College Business Department, a
student intern, Sara Diaz, has been assigned to work with His Branches in
developing a community assessment and marketing plan during the coming year.
Among other responsibilities, Sara will be out in the community interviewing
program leaders, reviewing demographic data about our ministry and others in the
area, and helping develop public relations material appropriate to our ministries.
Parking and green space
In June His Branches signed "conditional closing" papers with the City of
Rochester to purchase the two vacant lots immediately to the west of our
offices. We are now in the process of finalizing our site plans for approval,
under the guidance of Dave Beinetti and Carmine Torchia, and
expect to be breaking ground for our new parking lot and landscaped green space
this summer. A mural is being planned for our west wall with a lot of community input and
participation.

Branches has invited John Patrick, MD, a noted
Canadian pediatrician, researcher, ethicist, and professor to come to the
Rochester community September 26-28 for a series of meetings at the University

Fellowship. While in the area arrangements are
being made
for him to speak to medical students and community physicians on Friday and
Saturday as well as the broader community on Friday evening and Sunday morning
at two different churches in the city. |
Christian Physician Directory and Breakfasts
Every year His Branches co-hosts with the Medical
Center Christian Fellowship a series of three breakfasts for Christian
physicians in the area to meet students and fellowship with one another. This
year's first
breakfast will be held on Saturday, September 27th, from 9 to 11 am at Helen
Wood Hall across Crittenden Blvd. from the U. of R. Medical Center. Over the
years a Directory of physicians has been developed also. If you would be
interested in attending this September's meeting or in having your name listed
in our Directory to receive mailings about future breakfast meetings, please contact
us.

the community, and our President, Dr. Morehouse, was last year's recipient. This
