The Latest News from
His Branches
Scott Sittig to Become New Executive Director
Scott Sittig
|
Our search for a
full-time Executive Director to implement the vision of His Branches and its Board in the community has come to a wonderful
conclusion! After much prayer, mutual communication, and meeting with some
of us in Chicago and then with our entire Board in Rochester in
November, we arrived at the unanimous conclusion that the Lord was
calling Scott and Julia and their family to join our ministry. Almost immediately afterward, their house in Chicago sold and the
opportunity opened for them to purchase a new home right down the street
from our offices. To make a long story short, the Sittigs are moving into our neighborhood in December in time for Scott
to get established, participate in a Commissioning
Ceremony on January
3rd, and start his new responsibilities the first week of the
new year! We believe God not only has provided but will continue to
provide as we step out in obedient faith.

Christian Physician Directory and Breakfasts
| Every year His Branches co-hosts with the Medical
Center Christian Fellowship a series of three breakfasts for Christian
physicians in the area to meet students and fellowship with one another. Our second
breakfast will be held on Saturday, January 17th, from 9 to 11 am at the
Meliora (Faculty Club) beside the library on the University of Rochester River
Campus. The theme will be Focus on Missions with presentations by four local
groups that are involved in international medical missionary work.
Our new 2004 Greater Rochester Directory of Christian Physicians is
back from the printer and available for distribution. If you are in the
health professions and would be
interested in attending one of our breakfast meetings or in having your name listed
in our Directory, please contact
us. |

Counseling Center
His Branches is actively seeking input from a number of committed individuals
at Roberts Wesleyan
College, New Life
Fellowship, the
Center for Christian Social Ministries, the Institute for Social
Entrepreneurship and others in the broader community as we pursue our plans to develop
an onsite assessment, counseling, and referral center. Much interest has been
shown, and steady progress is being made as we seek specifics about the plan
that the Lord has in mind.
Beverley Timgren in Israel
Beverley Timgren
|
Beverley, the missionary that His Branches has been helping support in South Lebanon and
northern Israel for the past 20 years, has returned to Israel after visiting us
and reporting to our Board in October. Grateful for our ongoing
assistance, she is now back at work at the Arazim Dental Clinic she founded in Israel to help support Lebanese refugees.
If you would like to contribute to her work, please contact
us.

New parking, green space, and a mural!
After nearly three years of planning and discussion with members of the
community, His Branches has received the final "go ahead" from the City of
Rochester to purchase and develop the two vacant lots immediately to the west of our
offices. Under the guidance of Board Member Dave Beinetti and our engineer, Carmine
Torchia, final site
plans have been completed and approved by the City, and construction bids are being
received. At long last, we
expect to be breaking ground for our new parking lot and landscaped green space
this spring as soon as the ground thaws! As part of the project, a mural concept has been proposed for our west wall with a
target date of next summer. Between now and then we will be pursuing assistance
from the Council on the Arts as well as seeking a lot of community input and
participation.

One idea for our proposed mural
RWC Internship
With the support of the Roberts Wesleyan College Business Department, a
student intern, Sara Diaz, has been assigned to work with His Branches in
developing a community assessment and marketing plan during the coming year.
Among other responsibilities, Sara will be out in the community interviewing
program leaders, reviewing demographic data about our ministry and others in the
area, helping develop public relations material appropriate to our ministries,
providing assistance in grant location and writing, and helping gather community
support for our mural project.

Grace Family Medicine Associates News
Under the guidance of our new Executive Director, Scott Sittig, we are
starting to explore the possibility of establishing the services offered by the
physicians at Grace Family Medicine
Associates
as a Diagnostic and Treatment Facility under Article 28 of
New York's Public Health Law, a
designation that will help us to expand the scope of the clinical care we offer to
better serve the needs of the community. Please pray that we will have God's
wisdom and favor as we investigate this option.
Intercessory Prayer Meetings
|
Monthly intercessory prayer meetings of the Tree of Life Community will be held on
the third Wednesday morning of each month from 8:00 to 9:00 am in our main conference room at 275
Warwick Avenue this winter.
Please come and invite prayer
partners who have a burden for city ministry. We are beginning to
work toward a vision in which we see the Greater Rochester area fulfilling
its destiny in our day by becoming a community redeemed by the grace of
God and the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that a refined prayer
strategy is being called for along with a host of committed intercessors.
If you are interested in working on this project, please let
us know. |

Donations More than Welcome!
Over the years we have relied on the generous gifts of
many of you in support of the work we do among those who are more disadvantaged
than we are. As we embark on a new year of unprecedented growth under the
leadership of Scott Sittig, we are going to need your support even more than
usual, especially during the first few months while we are applying for major
grant funding.
Would you consider making a significant donation to His Branches
Inc. to help us "bridge" the gap between expenses and revenue while we
gear up for the new year? We are trusting the Lord to bring in nearly $40,000 in
donations during the next 6 months to support Scott and the initiatives we are
undertaking to expand our services. Any portion of our need that you would be
led to offer would be gratefully received. All donations are fully
tax-deductible. Please contact us with any questions you might have about our ministry or policies. God bless you!
