We awoke Wednesday morning
to a completely unpredicted new view of the future, potentially both ominous and promising. For those of us who are believers in a Sovereign God, it can be viewed either as a troubled God giving our nation what it’s asked for and deserves or a loving God answering our prayers in an unusual way. Either way, we’re in a crisis as defined below and are definitely going to need His help going forward.
The Chinese word for “crisis” (simplified Chinese: 危机; traditional Chinese: 危機; pinyin: wēijī) is frequently invoked in Western motivational speaking as being composed of two Chinese characters respectively signifying “danger” and “opportunity.”
What we’ve just witnessed is a significant grass-roots move of the electorate, especially non-urban voters, toward the Republican platform, which is remarkably conservative (see comparison here).
In New York State, where Hillary Clinton “won” all 29 of the Electoral College votes (see video below), the following map and regional tally show an interesting geographic distribution of voter opinion:
