Block Party 2018

What an amazing day! Everyone had a wonderful time at our 13th annual Arnett Block Party on Saturday, August 4th! Volunteers started arriving at 9:00 am, and by noon when the party started the tents were up and Tom Stefano on sound had us all set up and rocking to the Gospel! Willie Lightfoot did a amazing job as our MC for the afternoon. Over seven different churches, ministries, and Rochester agencies pitched in with music, food preparation, kids’ clothing, horse rides in the street, a magic show, the RFD Smoke House, Sew Green’s sewing demo, amazing bubbles, police dog visit,...

Honoring Martin Luther King

Today, April 4, marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., and the Board, staff, and supporters of His Branches will join others in our community and across the nation in paying tribute. The National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, built around the hotel where King was shot, is asking that bells toll 39 times to honor the number of years King lived and pay homage to his legacy. In our neighborhood the bells will start ringing at the U of R Hopeman Memorial Carillon in the Rush Rhees Library tower at 7:05 pm to symbolize when the news first...

And, can you believe it, there wasn’t a single bad incident, not even with the snakes and spiders in the Creeping Things booth! Kids were visiting Happy the Clown and getting their...
