Happy Hearts & Helping Hands

We Don’t Look a Day Over 45.

Advocating for Healthy Change

Heart Disease is regularly recorded as a leading cause of death in Rochester and steals nearly a decade of life on average from City residents. Our clinics are located in the neighborhoods most impacted by untreated or uncontrolled heart health. We’re working to change that.

Last week, we held a fundraiser to promote awareness about this serious issue and raised $1500 to support Heart Health for our community!

These funds will be used to purchase Heart Health Kits which will help educate our patients and provide them with tools, for example, to control and monitor their blood pressure. Thank you to our host, donors and sponsors for making this event possible. If you’d like to add a contribution to our Healthy Hearts campaign, it’s not too late. Your support will help us restore years of life back to our neighbors.

Neighborhood Brainstorm

Did you know an average of ten people die every year while walking and biking on Rochester’s streets? As a result, members of the Arnett Block Association recently participated in the Complete Streets Community Workshop in partnership with Reconnect Rochester and neighborhood residents to address the safety concerns at the Arnett and Warwick intersection near our 19th Ward clinic.

Together, the group recommended strategies that will be implemented into Stantec’s design and presented to the City for approval. We are looking forward to working with our neighbors to install the updates for safer mobility for patients and neighbors.

We’ll let you know how you can lend a hand in this community event day coming in May!

Construction Ahead!

As a part of the Omnibus Appropriate Bill passed in December of 2022, His Branches was awarded $819,312! The money will be used in order to renovate our 19th Ward clinic. This will ultimately allow for the expansion of programs and health care services to our neighbors. We’re thankful for the work of Senator Chuck Schumer and Kristin Gillibrand as well as Congressman Joseph Morelle to secure these funds.

Our team is busy designing plans to submit to New York’s Department of Health for approval before construction can begin later this year or early in 2024. We look forward to utilizing these funds to serve our neighbors for the next forty-five years!

Helping Hands

We’re always grateful for the individuals and groups who lend a hand to spruce up our space. By doing so, they help create spaces that provide dignity to the staff and patients who regularly utilize our facilities.

Recently, Browncroft Church and Cascades Recovery sent teams for painting projects. A small group from Grace Road Church spent a Saturday morning raking leaves on Arnett.

We love seeing teens get involved in serving as well! Riley, a high school senior, fulfilled volunteer hours for National Honor Society by shoveling snow to help keep our parking lot and sidewalks clear for staff and patients.

Mission Health + Home adjusted the layout of our safety railing at our main entrance. As a result, our front stoop is even safer for those who are elderly and differently abled.

We want to celebrate these individuals who take small steps to make a BIG difference within our community. THANK YOU!

Welcome New Provider, Dr. Raquel Reyes

Over the past year, 25% of all our new patients have been Spanish-speaking individuals. In order to keep up with this opportunity, we’re thrilled to add a new bilingual provider, Dr. Raquel Reyes, M.D, to our staff.

Dr. Reyes graduated from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston and completed a combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She brings nearly a decade of experience in providing medical care within community health centers.

Dr. Reyes shares, “during a time where going to the doctor seems rushed and impersonal for both patients and staff members, it's nice to be part of an organization that really values getting to know you better. From the front desk staff to the nursing staff to the social workers, everyone is here to help one another and build each other up just as Paul instructs in 1 Thessalonians 5:11.”

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming an integral part of our mission, we currently are looking to add a Behavioral Health Specialist to our team. Click the button to get connected with our search team.

Quality Award

This past year, we helped more than 2,000 patients receive quality care and were recognized by HRSA for being in the top 30% of clinics in the country.

If you, or someone you know, is in need of primary care, we’d love the opportunity to care for you/them. Fill out a new patient interest form HERE to start the process today!
